Patterns and Textures:

This week, students learned about the value of pattern and texture in photography. They also learned about shooting in RAW vs. jpeg, and the advantages and disadvantages of both formats. They went around campus to find examples of both pattern and texture.

Point of View: â€‹

We discovered the importance of changing your perspective and camera position when taking a photograph, and how changing your point of view can help the photographer tell a story. We learned 5 different points of view: bird's eye, worm's eye, eye level, looking up, and becoming the subject. We then had to go find 10 objects, and photograph the sam object 5 different ways.

Silhouette's and Shadows:

This week, we learned about the differences and similarities of shadows and silhouettes. We them tried to take pictures of both concepts.

Aperture: â€‹

Students learned about depth of field, bokeh, aperture, and focus. We then tried to use our new knowledge to create images where the subject was in focus and the foreground or background was blurry.
